I woke up to music, literally.  There were instruments in my home.  My father was a minister of music/choir director/quartet member, manager etc.  I had a front row seat to choir/band rehearsals.  I learned early the benefits of "having your note". Also learned that an artist can have a band full of great musicians and still have the worse sound!  All the pitfalls of personality differences and how the "individual" agenda can handicap the "group" mission.  It all shaped my sound and my ability to navigate through constructing timeless records!
